CLARK COUNTY, OHIO: Early bird registration is now open for the Dye Hard 5K which will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 30, in Snyder Park, Springfield, Ohio. Sponsored by the Developmental Disabilities of Clark County Levy Committee, the Dye Hard 5K is a race in which participants will get showered with safe, eco-friendly, colored powder while running, walking or rolling the route. Plaques will be awarded for the overall top finishers and the winners of each age group will receive medals.
“This race is different from most 5Ks in that the goal is to have fun and get as colorful as you can,” said Mike Chatfield, owner of FinishTiming and one of the event organizers. “There will be stations along the route that will throw different colors on you as you go by. We had over 1,000 people participate last year, and this year we are ramping up for an even bigger event. This is really fun for the community.”
Proceeds benefit the Developmental Disabilities of Clark County Levy Committee. The levy committee supports Developmental Disabilities of Clark County which empowers people throughout their lifetimes to achieve their fullest potential. The levy helps fund the F.F. Mueller Residential Center, adult day service providers like TAC and Self-Reliance, early intervention programs for children, transportation in specialized vehicles, care by independent providers, and vocational training. People with developmental disabilities participate in the Dye Hard 5K by walking, running, or rolling, and some help to throw color on the racers.
Early Bird Registration is only $20 before March 31, $25 until April 23, and $30 on race day. Visit the website at http://tinyurl.com/dhard5K to get event details and to register.
