Heritage Fellowship Church, 105 N. Tecumseh Road, Springfield, will be holding its first-ever free community soccer clinic for children K-5th grade during the week of July 31 to August 4.
Each evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. participants will get to work on soccer skills and hear a devotional message. Participants will be divided into different teams according to their soccer abilities. They will be led by several adults to learn skills, training, strategies and soccer maneuvers.
The soccer clinic is directed by Ken Winter. Ken, who has been a part of state championship soccer teams, has played at the collegiate level and coached college men’s soccer. He has coached many soccer teams in recent years and was even a contestant on the NBC competition season 7 of “American Ninja Warrior”. Along with Ken, many coaches and staff of the clinic bring soccer experience and skills to train kids of all ages and abilities.
According to Ken, “This clinic will be a great opportunity for kids to learn about soccer and get to know other kids in the area. It will be especially helpful for students who plan on playing soccer at school in the fall.”
Interested individuals may register for the clinic by going to the church’s website (www.heritagefc.net) and clicking on the soccer clinic registration bar.
