Glass Fusing Class: Rainbow Dangle Wind Chime
A Glass Fusing Class will be held on Thursday, March 14 from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm at the NTPRD Administration Building. Create a beautiful dangle wind chime using fused glass and beads. Choose your own colors and all supplies will be provided. This class is open to ages 12 & older and the deadline to register is March 8. The registration fee is $20. Composting Basics
A Composting Basics workshop will be held on Saturday, March 16 from 10:00 am – 11:30 am at the NTPRD Administration Building. Learn how to make usable soil from food scraps and yard trimmings at this educational workshop. An introduction to Vermicomposting will also be presented. Anyone who registers by March 11 will receive a free countertop compost container, suitable for storing kitchen scraps. At the end of the program will be a drawing for a free compost bin. This program is fee and in partnership with the Clark County Solid Waste District. Pre-registration is required by March 11 and is available online or in person at the NTPRD Administration Building.
Play Pals
Play Pals will be held on March 14 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Play Pals is open to children ages 2-4 along with an adult. Play Pals offers parent and caregivers the opportunity to participate with their little ones on fun activities. The March theme is Puppy Pals. The Best Friends Pet Assisted Therapy will be the special guest. The registration fee is $5 and the deadline to register is March 11. For more information call 328-PARK.
Rising Stars Theatre Academy
A Rising Stars Theatre Academy will take place on Saturday, March 16 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Snyder Park Clubhouse. This academy is open to youth ages 6-9. Participants will learn tips and gain skills for auditioning along with basic theatre and improvisation through a variety of fun games and exercises. It is a great program for the beginning actor or for the experienced actor who wants to refresh his or her tools. This program is held in partnership with the Springfield Arts Council and led by Krissy Hartman. The registration fee is $30 and the deadline to register is March 14. March Madness Tournament
A March Madness Tournament for ages 18 & older will be held on Saturday, March 16 at the Global Impact STEM Academy. The friendly 3v3 tournament will begin at 9:00 am and will be a kick off to March madness. All teams are guaranteed 2 games in a double elimination style bracket. Teams are required to turn in a 4 person roster and wear matching shirts or jerseys. Games will have a 15 minute/25 point limit. The registration fee is $50 per team. Active Living Everyday
An Active Living Everyday program will begin March 19 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. This 12-week evidence-based program is open to adults ages 18 & older and will focus on behavior change that teaches sedentary adults the skills necessary to overcome barriers to physical activity. Explore ways to be active every day as well as the skills needed to become and stay physically active during this classroom-based program. The registration fee is $20. Tai Chi For Wellness
A 6-week spring session of Tai Chi will begin Friday, March 8 from 8:30 am – 9:30 am for the beginner and 9:45 am – 10:45 am for intermediate. Tai Chi will be held at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Increase your strength, energy and flexibility and emotional outlook through this graceful form of exercise. The registration fee is $40. For more information call 328-PARK.
Trail Walkers
The kick off to a new year of Trail Walkers begins Tuesday, March 12 at 10:00 am at the NTPRD Administration Building. Trail Walkers is a guided, self-paced walk on paved trails and promotes fitness, fellowship and fun. Trail Walkers is sponsored by Richards, Raff and Dunbar Memorial Home and Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. For more information call 328-7275.
 
Trail Hikers
Trail Hikers is organized by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Trail Hikers will be held at Rebert Pike Nature Park on the 1st, 3rd & 5th weeks of the month and at New Reid Park on the 2nd and at Old Reid Park on the 4th week. These guided, self-paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. Hiking boots are recommended. This program is free. For more information call 328-PARK.
 
CO-ED Volleyball
A Co-Ed Volleyball League will be offered to adults ages 18 and older and held at the Global Stem Academy. This recreational league is designed for fun and exercise. Games will be held on Monday nights starting April 1. Teams must have equal male and female on the court and will play by standard co-ed rules. Each team will play five games including a end of the season playoff. The registration fee is $125 per team. For more information call 328-PARK.
65 & Over Softball League
