The Fullness of God

By David M. Reeves, PhD

Psalms 47:2-8 “For the LORD most high [is] terrible; [he is] a great King over all the earth. He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet. He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah. God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet. Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises. For God [is] the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.”

Make no mistake, the Lord is good and shows mercy, kindness, love, and grace; but, He is also a God of wrath that will avenge His beloved. The God of the Old Testament is the God of the New Testament!

Often in today’s messages we hear of only one side of a wonderful Savior. We hear of His wondrous grace and mercy and of His unending love…and these are true and wonderful but it doesn’t show Him in all of His power and justice!
Our God is a just God. He displays love and mercy but also justice and wrath! The Bible says ‘vengeance is mine…I shall repay”! Be sure that your sins will find you out!

The best way is to call upon God for forgiveness as He is a forgiving God. He will forgive and restore you into right standing before Him.

Nothing we do can make up for our sins. We can’t give extra money in an offering plate, do extra work around the church, or be extra nice. Nothing we do is good enough for God! We must ask forgiveness because of the blood of Jesus, God’s only Son that came to give His life a ransom for the lost. Jesus – God’s Son that was dead and is alive forever!

Cast your cares and sin upon Jesus for He cares for you and He will bring you blameless before the Father and the Father’s wrath for your sin will pass over you!

Get right or get left! Jesus is coming very soon…be ready for that great and terrible day! He is coming with ten thousand and thousands of His saints very soon! Be ready now!
