Summer Butterfly Walk

A Summer Butterfly Walk for ages 10 & older will be held on Saturday, July 13 from 10:30 – 11:30 am at George Rogers Clark Park. Search for common Ohio butterfly species and learn how to identify them on this FREE summer walk. We will meet at the Demint Shelter. Registration is required and is available online by going to ntprd.org or by calling 937-328-7275. 

Read With the Trees: Let’s Go Camping

Read With the Trees is for ages 4-10 (with a caregiver) and will be held on Thursday, July 18 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Galloway Park in Enon. Summer is the perfect season for camping and connecting with nature. Learn about nature and camping with stories, camp songs and craft during this FREE program presented in collaboration with the Clark County Public Library. Registration is available online by going to ntprd.org or by calling 937-328-7275. 

Rising Stars Theatre Academy

The Rising Stars Theatre Academy will be held on Saturday, July 20 from 9:30 – 12:00 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. This program is for youth ages 6-10 and is great for the beginning actor or for the more experienced actor who wants to refresh his or her tools. The registration fee is $30 and the deadline to register is July 17. This program is offered in partnership with the Springfield Arts Council. For more information call 937-328-7275. 

Changes In Women’s Fashions – 1750 – 1880

Changes in Women’s Fashions is for ages 12 & older and will be held on Wednesday, July 24 from 10:00 -11:30 am at the Davidson Interpretive Center. Explore the evolution and history of women’s American fashions through a fun and educational three-part series. Trace styles from colonial times to the 1880’s, examining how social shifts, technology, and economics shaped our ancestors’ fashion choices. This is a 3-part series and registration is available for one or all sessions. The fee is $6 per person per session or register for all three sessions for $15. Camp No Kids

Camp No Kids is for adults ages 21 & older and is scheduled for Saturday, July 27 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm at the Snyder Park Clubhouse Shelter. Rediscover the joys of youth at this adults-only summer camp! Relive cherished camp memories like tie-dye shirts, friendship bracelets, games and more. Trail Walkers

Trail Walkers is for ages 18 & over and will be held on Tuesday, July 9 from 10:00 – 11:00 am, and will meet at Old Reid Park to walk on the Buck Creek Trail. Trail Walkers is a guided walking program, which highlights the multi-purpose trail system while promoting fitness, fellowship and fun. Participants are required to complete a yearly registration form prior to their first walk. For more information call 937-328-7275. 

Trail Hikers

Trail Hikers is for ages 18 & older and scheduled for Wednesdays from 10:00 – 11:00 am at various park locations including Old Reid Park/Kirby Preserve, New Reid Park, Rebert Pike Nature Park and the Mad River Gorge & Nature Preserve. These guided, self paced hikes allow you to explore our local natural environments. Wear hiking boots, all trails are natural. Hikers must complete a yearly registration form before their first hike. Clark Park Hikers

Clark Park Hikers is for ages 18 & older and held on Thursdays from 9:00 -10:00 am at George Rogers Clark Park. Take a hike through the woods and experience the beauty and camaraderie found in the great outdoors. Hikers must complete a yearly registration form before their first hike. Trail Riders

Trail Riders is for ages 18 & older and will meet Monday, July 15 at 10:00 am at Old Reid Park to ride the Buck Creek Trail. Trail riders is a guided cycling program that promotes fitness and fun. These paced recreational rides are at an average speed of 10-12 mph and explore our local multi-use trails. Prior to the first ride participants are required to complete a yearly registration form.  For more information call 937-328-7275.

Trail Rollers

Trail Rollers is for ages 18 & Older and is held on Fridays from 10:00 – 11:00 am and will meet on July 12 at the Smith Park in New Carlisle. This program is for individuals on wheels and their caregivers, welcoming all types of non-motorized wheeled rides on our local trails. It’s a great opportunity for parents and caregivers to get outside, exercise and socialize. Please note, only pets in strollers are allowed on this walk. The walk is free and registration is required online or by calling 937-328-7275.
