Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1801 St. Paris Pike, will host H.E.R.O.E.S. Care Hometown Support Program Workshop Saturday, October 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Stephen Leaders and Stephen Ministers have answered the call to serve our nation’s military families, especially the Reserve Forces and National Guard mobilized for active duty, through the H.E.R.O.E.S (Homefront Enabling Relationships, Opportunities, and Empowerment through Support) Care Hometown Support Program.
H.E.R.O.E.S. Care is a collaborative effort among well established non-governmental organizations (NGOs) designed to provide complete and proactive support for members of all branches of the military and their families through pre-deployment, deployment, family reintegration and post-deployment. The program consists of a network of tens of thousands of trained caregivers and thousands of professional mental health care and service providers working together to provide an unprecedented system of support for military members and their families.
There are over 3000 H.E.R.O.E.S. Care trained Stephen Ministers and Stephen Leaders from 617 Stephen congregations in 25 states that have answered the call to help our military service members and their families. Hundreds more are needed.
