Brave Life Pastoral Counseling, LLC, a Christian counseling practice owned by Derek Ellis, has begun seeing clients! As a collaboration of Champion City Vineyard Church and Ellis (a pastor of the Vineyard), Brave Life Pastoral Counseling seeks to provide Christ-centered, bible-based therapy for all individuals, regardless of religious affiliation.
Ellis, noting the lack of distinctly Christian mental health services in Springfield and the greater Clark County area, formed the private practice in an effort to provide services in which individuals can clearly integrate their faith into the therapeutic intervention. Ellis hopes that the integration of faith and counseling will help to alleviate the continued stigma of mental health issues within the church.
