The Clark State Lady Eagles volleyball team is making headlines as they advanced to the 2024 NJCAA Volleyball Championship on Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. The Lady Eagles will face the Muskegon Jayhawks on the campus of St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron, Mich., as they battle for the NJCAA Great Lakes District B crown.
Leading the 19-win season is Trinity Thomas, a sophomore defense libero from London (Ohio) studying diagnostic medical sonography, and Raighen Combs, a sophomore from London in the registered nursing program, serving the team as a hitter. Additional team members include Bailey Poppe, a freshman hitter from Urbana studying communication; Aubrey Burns, a freshman hitter studying agriculture business from Milford Center; Rachel Palmer, freshman hitter from Washington Court House studying management; Emma Sallot, a freshman setter general studies major from Springfield; and Eva Moore, a freshman middle from Xenia studying diagnostic medical sonography. Trinity Cline and Ryan Roark serve as head coach and assistant coach, respectively.
A highlight of the season was a landmark victory over Owen Express on Oct. 19.
“We are incredibly proud of the Lady Eagles for reaching the NJCAA tournament,” said Naz Butler, Clark State’s director of athletics. “Through hard work and determination, the team has shown exceptional growth; their journey is a reflection of their unity, resilience and the Clark State spirit. The entire Clark State community is cheering them on as they continue to achieve greatness.”
