Downtown Tipp City’s September Community Night will be held on Friday, September 1st. The evening of free music will begin at 6:15 PM with Rocky Run followed by Berachah Valley at 7:30 PM. This will be the final performance of the Summer Concert Series, celebrating its 26th season.
Rocky Run plays a mix of good old-timey bluegrass with newer songs mixed in. They started out playing for fun at the Horseshoe Lounge, but now play out at many area festivals. The trio consists of Dave Stacey playing banjo, guitar and mandolin, Kevin Serey on guitar (who has played in a blues and rock band for 20 years) and Alyssia Serey on stand up bass.
Berachah Valley is predominately a female harmony bluegrass band, which plays bluegrass, Americana, country, and gospel music. Formed in 2005, their audiences quickly noticed the smooth combination of musicianship and their powerful female trio harmonies. Their music is influenced by the recordings of The Isaacs, The Forbes Family, Emmylou Harris, The Whites and others. The recording of their song Old Kentucky was number one on the Bluegrass Jamboree charts for four weeks.
