Movies in the Park

A free movie in the park is scheduled for Friday, August 2 at Moorefield Family Park in Springfield featuring Jurassic Park. Pack your blankets and snacks for a magical evening under the stars. Thanks to Madison Health for sponsoring the movie. For more information call 937-328-7275. 

Commemorate Battle at Peckuwe

A ceremony to commemorate the Battle of Peckuwe, the largest Revolutionary War battle west of the Allegheny Mountains, will be held on Saturday, August 3 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at George Rogers Clark Park. Join the George Rogers Clark Heritage Association near the monument on the hill past the Hertzler House.

Outdoor Yoga Flow

Outdoor Yoga Flow is for adults ages 18 & over and will have a 4-week session on Tuesdays, August 6 – August 27 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at the Davidson Interpretive Center. This Vinyasa yoga class starts with mindful breathing and warm-ups, progressing through various poses to enhance flexibility and reduce stress. Suitable for all levels with modifications available. Participants should bring a mat and water bottle. The registration fee is $35 and the deadline to register is August 2. Registration is available by going to ntprd.org or by calling 937-328-7275. 

Tiny Picasso

Tiny Picasso is for youth ages 6-12 and will be held on Tuesday, August 6 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at the NTPRD Administration Building, This class is about fun and nurturing a passion for art. Children can explore their artistic side and create a unique canvas painting to bring home. The registration fee is $20 and the deadline to register is July 30. 

Back to School Carnival Bash

The Back to School Carnival Bash is for all ages and will be held on Friday, August 9 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Snyder Park BandShell area. The event will include live performances, free carnival games and face painting. Bring a chair or blanket and prepare to be dazzled by a spectacular show. 

Trail Walkers

Trail Walkers is for ages 18 & over and will be held on Tuesday, August 6 from 10:00 – 11:00 am, meeting at the Eagle City Soccer Complex to walk on the Simon Kenton Trail. Trail Walkers is a guided walking program, which highlights the multi-purpose trail system while promoting fitness, fellowship and fun. Participants are required to complete a yearly registration form prior to their first walk. For more information call 937-328-7275. 

Trail Hikers

Trail Hikers is for ages 18 & older and scheduled for Wednesdays from 10:00 – 11:00 am at various park locations including Old Reid Park/Kirby Preserve, New Reid Park, Rebert Pike Nature Park and the Mad River Gorge & Nature Preserve. These guided, self paced hikes allow you to explore our local natural environments. Wear hiking boots, all trails are natural. Hikers must complete a yearly registration form before their first hike. Clark Park Hikers

Clark Park Hikers is for ages 18 & older and held on Thursdays from 9:00 -10:00 am at George Rogers Clark Park. Take a hike through the woods and experience the beauty and camaraderie found in the great outdoors. Hikers must complete a yearly registration form before their first hike. Trail Riders

Trail Riders is for ages 18 & older and will meet Monday, August 5 at 10:00 am meeting at the Eagle City Soccer Complex to ride on the Simon Kenton Trail. Trail riders is a guided cycling program that promotes fitness and fun. These paced recreational rides are at an average speed of 10-12 mph and explore our local multi-use trails. Prior to the first ride participants are required to complete a yearly registration form.  For more information call 937-328-7275.

Trail Rollers

Trail Rollers is for ages 18 & Older and is held on Fridays from 10:00 – 11:00 am, and will meet on August 9 at the Eagle City Soccer Complex. This program is for individuals on wheels and their caregivers, welcoming all types of non-motorized wheeled rides on our local trails. It’s a great opportunity for parents and caregivers to get outside, exercise and socialize. Please note, only pets in strollers are allowed on this walk. The walk is free and registration is required online or by calling 937-328-7275.
