On April 11 & 12 the Springfield-Clark CTC had 45 students attend the SkillsUSA State Conference at the Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio. There were nearly 4,000 SkillsUSA student members, advisors, parents and industry partners from Ohio in attendance.
Students had to place in the top three at the Southwest Regional Competitions, held this past March at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio to advance to the State Conference. The following SCSD students received metals based on their placement in the top three in the state of Ohio:
Dan Cleary (SHS senior in the Electrical Trades Program) – 1st Place in the Industrial Motor Controls Competition Madaline McCleary (SHS senior in the Medical Assisting Program) – 1st place in the Medical Assisting Competition as state gold medal winners, Dan Cleary and Madaline McCleary will be invited to represent Springfield-Clark CTC and the State of Ohio at the SkillsUSA National Conference in Louisville, Kentucky on June 19-24, 2017.
SkillsUSA is a national organization for career technical students training for career in trade, industrial, technical and health related occupations.
