Passport to Fishing
Passport to Fishing will be held on Friday, June 2, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Old Reid Park. Passport to Fishing is open to youth ages 4-16, along with a parent or caregiver. It’s a beginner fishing program where participants learn fishing skills while having fun and enjoying the great outdoors. Education stations will teach about fish habitats, fish handling and casting followed by fishing time in the ponds. Meet at the shelter house next to Wiggley Field Dog Park. Pre-registration is required by May 31 and space is limited in this free program. This program is made possible from a grant from the Ohio Division of Wildlife. For more information call 328-PARK.
Trail Tot Camp
Summer Camp registration is underway. Trail Tot Camp will be held June 5-9 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Trail Tot Camp is open to children ages 3-5 and features fun-filled, age appropriate nature themed activities. Arts and Crafts, games, music, dancing, and story-time activities will be included. Children must be potty trained to attend. This is a drop off program. The registration fee is $55 and the deadline to register is May 31 or when full. For more information call 328-PARK.
Cheerleading Camp
Cheerleading Camp, open to youth ages 6 to 12, will be held June 5-8 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Snyder Park Clubhouse. The sport of cheerleading is fun and challenging. Learn cheerleading techniques including chants, cheers, jumps along with dance moves and more. A performance by the campers will be held on the final day of camp. The registration fee is $40 and the deadline to register is June 1, 2017. Youth Equine Camp
A Youth Equine Camp will be held for youth, ages 9-16, the week of June 5-8 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Autumn Trails Stables. Participants will build a foundation of equine safety skills as well as learning horse care, ground handling, introduction to horseback riding, games and arts and crafts. Helmets are required. The registration fee is $95 and the registration deadline is May 31. Space in camp is limited. For more information call 328-PARK.
Tot and Youth Tennis Camps
Tot and Youth Tennis Camps begin the week of June 5-8. Tot Tennis is open to children ages 5-7 along with an adult companion and held from 8:30 am to 9:00 am at the Wittenberg University Albright Tennis Complex. The registration fee is $25 and the deadline to register is May 30. Youth Tennis Camp for ages 8-10 will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am and the registration fee is $40. Camp for ages 11-18 will be held from 10:00 am to 11:30 am and the registration fee is $45. The instructor will be the Wittenberg University Tennis Coach Eby Day. Health Nuts Mini Camps
Health Nuts Mini Camps will be held on Fridays, June 16, 23 & June 30 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Buck Creek Nature Park. Health Nuts combines health and fitness along with environmental education through fun outdoor activities and healthy eating topics. Participants will learn to appreciate nature, be more physically active and eat healthier with hands on activities and games. Each camp will feature a different theme and activities. Health Nuts is a collaboration between NTPRD and the Ohio State University Extension, Clark-County Family & Consumer Sciences. CO-ED Kickball League
Register now for the NTPRD CO-ED Kickball League. Teams will play a 10 game schedule on Thursday nights starting June 8 at Snyder Park Field. Teams must be a minimum of 10 players ( 5 male and 5 female). The registration fee is $150 and the deadline to register is May 26, 2017. For more information call 328-PARK.
Trail Walkers
Trail Walkers will meet on Tuesday, May 30 at 10:00 am and meeting at NTPRD Administration Building. Trail Walkers highlights the multi-purpose trail system while promoting fitness, fellowship and fun. These guided walks are self-paced. The 2017 Trail Walkers program is sponsored by Richards, Raff and Dunbar Memorial Home and Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. Trail Hikers
Trail Hikers is organized by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Rebert Pike Nature Park on the 1st, 3rd & 5th week of the month and at New Reid Park on the 2nd & 4th weeks of the month. These guided, self-paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. Trail Riders
Trail Riders will meet on Monday, June 5 at 10:00 am to ride the Simon Kenton Trail and meeting at Eagle City Soccer Complex. Trail Riders is a guided, self-paced biking program and rides are approximately 15 miles, exploring local bike trails while promoting fitness and fun. A pre-ride clinic will be held at 9:30 am. Bike helmets are required. For more information call 328-PARK.
Old Reid Park Tennis Center Opens
Old Reid Park Tennis Centers hours of operations are Monday – Thursday from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Saturday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Splash Zone Waterpark
Splash Zone Waterpark is open daily from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Splash Zone is an aquatics center that features over 400 feet of water slides, a lazy river, water vortex, spray ground, a competition pool and diving boards. Season passes are available for purchase. Call 328-7275 for more information.
