Hitting Pay Dirt With Composting
The Hitting Pay Dirt With Composting workshop will be held on Saturday, March 17 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Learn how to make usable soil from food scraps and yard trimmings at this educational program. Steve Schlather from the Clark County Solid Waste District will discuss what and how to compost as well as how to deal with common problems. Register by March 15 and receive a free countertop compost container, suitable for storing kitchen scraps. A drawing will be held for a free compost bin. This program is presented by the Clark County Solid Waste District. This program is free. Pre-registration is required and available by going to www.ntprd .org.
Artwork Sampler
Artwork Sampler, for ages 16 & older, is scheduled for Monday, March 19 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the NTPRD Administration Building. Make A beautiful piece of artwork out of paper, stamps and punches. The 12″ x 12″ design will brighten your home or office. The registration fee is $15 and the deadline to register is March 14, 2018. Bird Walk
A spring Bird Walk will be held on Friday, March 23 from 8:00 am to 9:30 am at Old Reid Park. Many ducks and other water birds should be passing through at this time. Get a close look at several species of ducks along with other birds. Doug Overacker will lead this walk. Pre-registration is recommended. Lee’s Game Night
Lee’s Game Night will take place on Friday, March 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the NTPRD Administration Building. Enjoy a night of fun while playing a variety of games and more. The theme is March Madness. The registration fee is $3 and include dinner. Dinner is provided and sponsored by Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken. The registration deadline is March 23, 2018. Reptiles, Possums & Birds…Oh My!
Have the opportunity to see live animals native to Ohio. Meet wildlife ambassadors from Brukner Nature Center along with arts and crafts. This program is for ages 5-12 with adult companion and will be held from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District. The registration fee is $5 per person and the deadline to register is March 23. Pilates
A new spring 6-week session of Tai Chi will begin on Wednesdays, March 7 – April 11 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the NTPRD Administration Building. Pilates is stretching and strengthening. It tones muscle, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance. The registration fee is $40 and the registration deadline is March 6. For more information call 328-PARK.
 
Trail Hikers
Trail Hikers is organized by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Rebert Pike Nature Park on the 1st, 3rd & 5th weeks of the month, at New Reid Park on the 2nd & 4th week. These guided, self-paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment.
