Summer Letterbox Adventure
The family favorite Summer Letterbox Adventure has begun. During this adventure, participants search for letterboxes hidden in local parks and organizations. Letterbox booklets are available at National Trail Parks and Recreation District, the Clark County Park District, Springfield Museum of Art and the CJ Brown Damn and Reservoir. Complete the challenge and fill out a registration form to be entered in a drawing for prizes. Personalitrees
Personalitrees will begin June 29 at Snyder Park. Search the parks for enchanted forest friends. Go to www.ntprd.org for the starting location at each park and search for the five trees that reveal their face to you. Then select one tree to name and share its backstory. Each photo and backstory counts as an entry in a drawing for prizes. For more information call NTPRD at 328-PARK.
Health Nut Mini Camps
Health Nut Mini Camps will be held on Fridays, 29 and July 13 & 20 from 9:30 am – 11:30 am at the Snyder Park Clubhouse. Health Nuts combines health and nature education through fun outdoor activities and games along with healthy eating topics. Health Nuts is free and pre-registration is required. Health Nuts is a collaboration between NTPRD and the Ohio State University Extension, Clark County Family & Consumer Sciences. Youth Soccer Camp
Youth Soccer Camp will be held July 9-12 (rain date July 13) for ages 8-15, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Eagle City Soccer Complex. Dribbling, passing and scoring goals will be covered in this fun, fast paced camp. The instructor is Kenton Ridge Soccer Coach Michael Sherrock. Campers must wear shin guards and bring a water bottle. The registration fee is $40 and the deadline to register is July 5, 2018. For more information call 328-PARK.
Tennis Lessons
Youth Tennis Lessons will be held the week of July 9-12 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Wittenberg University for ages 8-12. Participants will learn the rules and etiquette along with fundamentals of the game. The registration fee is $40 and the deadline to register is the Friday prior. Tot Tennis lessons, open to ages 5-7 is 8:30 to 9:00 am. The registration fee for Tot Tennis is $25.  For more information call 328-PARK.
Clark County Old-Fashioned Fireworks
The 24th Annual Clark County Old-Fashioned Fireworks will be held on Monday, July 2 at the Clark County Fairgrounds. The Clark County Old-Fashioned Fireworks is presented by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and made possible by the support of local businesses and community members. Gates open at 6:00 pm. Live music begins at 7:00 pm in the Grandstands, featuring Above the Law and Albarino Affair. This family friendly event is free. Fireworks begin at dark, approximately 10:00 pm. Use Gate A-1 to enter the fairgrounds. Layborne Road will be closed to traffic. Trail Walkers
Trail Walkers is held on Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on our local multi-purpose trails. Trail Walkers is a guided, self-paced walk that highlights the multi-purpose trail system while promoting fitness, fellowship and fun. The next Trail Walkers is scheduled for July 10 and meeting at Eagle City Soccer Complex. The 2018 Trail Walkers program is sponsored by Richards, Raff and Dunbar Memorial Home and Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. Trail Hikers
Trail Hikers is organized by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Rebert Pike Nature Park on the 1st, 3rd & 5th weeks of the month and at New Reid Park on the 2nd & 4th week. These guided, self-paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. Hiking boots are recommended. The program is free. For more information call 328-PARK.
Trail Riders
The next Trail Riders is scheduled for July 9 and meeting at Eagle City Soccer Complex.  Trail Riders is a guided, self-paced biking program that explores our local multi-purpose trails while promoting fitness and fun. The spring rides will be approximately 10-15 miles. Bike helmets are required. For more information call 328-PARK.
Old Reid Park Tennis Center
The Old Reid Park Tennis Center is now open through Labor Day Weekend. Hours are Monday – Friday 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm, Saturdays 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sundays from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm. All court times are pay. For more information call 328-PARK.
Splash Zone
Splash Zone is now open daily May 26 – August 12 from 12:00 – 7:00 pm. Season passes are available at the NTPRD Administration Building. Splash Zone is available for private rental in the evenings. Check out the complete schedule of events at www.ntprd.org.
