Fool Tom the Turkey
Fool Tom the Turkey will be at the NTPRD Buck Creek Nature Park beginning November 6. Test your knowledge about the first thanksgiving. Tom the Turkey will be hiding in 3 different locations at the Buck Creek Nature Park. Tom the Turkey will ask you questions and try to fool you. Submit your answers by tagging National Trail Parks and Recreation District on Facebook or emailing it to nationaltrail@springfieldhio.gov. Each correct answer counts as an entry into a drawing for a chance to win a Bowman & Landes turkey. Tom the Turkey will move to Smith Park in New Carlisle the week of November 14-18. Nature Stories
Nature Stories will be held on Thursday, November 15 from 10:00 am to 10:30 am at the NTPRD Administration Building. Nature Stories is open to children ages 18mths – 3yrs old along with an adult. Spend time with your little ones during this nature-inspired story time and craft. The registration fee is $5. For more information call 328-PARK.
Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Course
A Certified Volunteer Naturalist Training will be held in 2019 presented by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and the Clark County Park District, in collaboration with the Ohio State University. Course locations will vary from week to week to help acquaint participants with the natural area around Clark County. To become an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist, individuals must complete 40 hours of instruction and perform 40 hours of approved volunteer service within the first year with NTPRD or CCPD. The deadline to submit an application is November 30, 2018. The brochure, application and more information is available at www.ntprd.org. For more information call 328-PARK.
Bucket Busters Basketball
Late registration is now open for Bucket Busters Basketball for youth in grades 5-7. This is a co-ed recreational league with an emphasis on improving skill development through practices and games. Participants will meet two or three times a week starting in December with games starting in January. Days, times and locations are to be determined. Teams will be organized by schools if possible. The late registration fee is $40.  Registration is available online by going to www.ntprd.org or in person at the NTPRD Administration Building. For more information call 328-PARK.
Dribblers Youth Basketball

Dribblers Basketball is for youth in Grades 1 & 2. This instructional league teaches the basic skills of the game through drills, stations and games. This 6-week program will be held twice a week starting in January. Days and times and location are to be determined. Adult participation is required. The registration fee is $35 and the deadline to register is November 30, 2018.
Junior Jammers Basketball
Junior Jammers Basketball is open to youth in grades 3-4 and is a highly instructional league with an emphasis on skill development. This 6-week program will be held 2 times a week starting in January. The first 2 weeks will be clinic and practice style sessions with the last four weeks being practices and games. Days, times and locations are to be determined. The registration fee is $35 and the deadline to register is November 30, 2018. For more information call 328-PARK.
Trail Walkers
Trail Walkers is held on Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on our local multi-purpose trails. Trail Walkers is a guided, self-paced walk that highlights the multi-purpose trail system while promoting fitness, fellowship and fun. The next Trail Walkers is scheduled on November 6 at 10:00 am and meeting at Eagle City Soccer Complex. Trail Walkers is sponsored by Richards, Raff and Dunbar Memorial Home and Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. Trail Hikers
Trail Hikers is organized by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Rebert Pike Nature Park on the 1st, 3rd & 5th weeks of the month and at New Reid Park on the 2nd & 4th week. These guided, self-paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. Hiking boots are recommended. The program is free. For more information call 328-PARK.
Talkin’ Baseball

A new season of Talkin’ Baseball will begin on Wednesday, November 7 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Activities will include a monthly trivia contest, book or video exchange with a baseball topic of discussion. This program is presented by the Springfield/Clark County Baseball Hall of Fame.
