Nature At Night
Nature At Night will be held on Friday, May 5 from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm at the Snyder Park Clubhouse area. Hear stories around the campfire from Johnny Appleseed, portrayed by Douglas Horvath.  A Stargaze will begin at 8:30 pm and will feature a large industrial telescope. This program is free and pre-registration is required and available online by going to www.ntprd.org. Bring a chair. For questions call 328-PARK. Nature at Night is in partnership with the Clark County Park District.
Spring Migration Walk
A Spring Migration Bird Walk will be held Friday, May 5 from 7:30 am to 9:00 am at the Snyder Park Clubhouse area. Explore natural areas looking for warblers and other birds. Be prepared for wet grass. All skill levels are welcome. Bring binoculars if you have them. Meet at the Snyder Park Clubhouse Shelter House. Pre-registration is recommended and available online by going to www.ntprd.org. Play Pals
Play Pals will take place on Thursday, May 11 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Play Pals is open to children ages 2-4 along with an adult companion. Play Pals offers parents and caregivers the opportunity to participate with their little ones on fun activities including learning stations, story time, songs, arts and crafts and new learning experiences. Wild About Nature
Wild About Nature Day will be held on Saturday, May 13 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Snyder Park Clubhouse area. Celebrate Mother’s Day with a variety of fun nature education activities. Meet a live deer and fox. Nature walks begin at 10:15 am and 11:00 am and will meet at the Clubhouse Shelter House. Herb plants will be given out to Mothers, while supplies last. Gift of Greeting
Gift of Giving, open to ages 10 and older, will be held on Saturday, May 13 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District  Administration Building. Make beautiful cards and a holder. Everything you need to complete the project and instructions will be provided. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The registration fee is $20 or $35 per couple. For more information call 328-PARK.
Movie Night
Movie Night will be held on Friday, May 19 at Smith Park in New Carlisle. National Trail Parks and Recreation District presents Disney’s Finding Dory, which begins at dark (around 8:30 pm) and will be shown under the starts on a huge, inflatable screen with a state-of-the-art projection and sound system. This program is free.
Yappy Hour
The 1st Yappy Hour of the season will take place on Wednesday, May 17 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Snyder Parks Clubhouse area for ages 21 & Older. Bring your 4-legged friend out to enjoy live music and a cold beverage. No pet? That’s okay. Come on out and enjoy the festivities and beautiful park. Local vendors will be set-up. For more information call National Trail Parks and Recreation District at 328-PARK.
Adult Tennis Leagues
Adult Tennis Leagues, ages 18 & older, will begin the first week of June at Old Reid Park Tennis Center. NTPRD Adult Tennis Leagues are held on soft courts and begin the first week of June and run through August. Season passes and play punch cards are available. Monday is the Mixed Doubles league, Tuesday is Men’s Doubles, Wednesday is Men’s & Women’s 50 and over league and Thursday is Men’s & Women’s Singles. The registration fee is $10 per player-per league plus the court fee. The registration deadline is May 12. For more information call 328-PARK.
Team Tennis – Level 1
Team Tennis is open to youth in grades 1-6 (2017-18 school year) and held on Monday & Wednesdays, June 5-21 at Wittenberg University. National Trail Parks and Recreation District Youth Team Tennis uses the concept of fun, friends and play to build the foundation for future success in tennis and life. Using the USTA Youth Tennis play format, participants use modified equipment and courts, tailored to their age and size, making it easier to play, rally and succeed right from the start. Register at MidwestTeamTennis.com. Registration fee of $60 includes racquet, shirt and more. The registration deadline is May 12.
Trail Walkers
Trail Walkers will meet on Tuesday, May 9 at 10:00 am at Smith Park in New Carlisle to walk on the Tecumseh. Trail Walkers highlights the multi-purpose trail system while promoting fitness, fellowship and fun. These guided walks are self-paced. The 2017 Trail Walkers program is sponsored by Richards, Raff and Dunbar Memorial Home and Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. Trail Hikers
Trail Hikers is organized by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Rebert Pike Nature Park on the 1st, 3rd & 5th week of the month and at New Reid Park on the 2nd & 4th weeks of the month. These guided, self-paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. Hiking boots are recommended. The program is free. For more information call 328-PARK.
Trail Riders
Trail Riders will meet on Monday, May 8 at 10:00 am, meeting at the County Line Road Staging Area. Trail Riders is a guided, self-paced biking program that is approximately 15 miles, exploring local bike trails while promoting fitness and fun. Bike helmets are required.
