Youth Soccer Clinics
A Youth Soccer Clinic will be held Wednesday August 7 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Evans Stadium.  Youth Soccer Clinics are free and open to youth in grades 3rd – 8th and are designed for players who want to learn and improve their fundamental soccer skills in a fun, safe, encouraging environment. Learn teamwork and discipline at these free clinics. Participants will receive a soccer ball and T-shirt. All participants must have shin guards. Soccer Clinics are funded by a generous grant from the Community Health Foundation. Outdoor Movie Night
Outdoor Movie Night is scheduled for Friday, August 9 at the South Charleston Train Depot. Grab a blanket, lawn chair, family and friends and head to the movies. The featured movie is The Lego Movie 2 and will be projected on a large inflatable screen and will begin at dark (approx. 9 pm). Movie Night is sponsored by Madison Health.
Read With the Trees
Read With the Trees, for children ages 4 – 7 with a parent or guardian, will be held on Wednesday, August 14 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the Snyder Park Playground Shelter. Enjoy the benefits of reading while experiencing nature. Listen to stories, sing songs, make a craft and explore nature. This program is free and done in partnership with the Clark County Public Library. Registration is required by August 12. For more information call 328-PARK.
Lee’s Big Backyard Game Night
Lee’s Big Backyard Game Night will be held on Thursday, August 15 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the NTPRD Administration Building. Lee’s  game night is back in a BIG way. Lawn Jenga, badminton, giant checkers and more will be featured in this game night for all ages. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Dinner will be provided and sponsored by Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken. The registration fee is $3 per person. Pre registration is required by August 12. For more information call 328-PARK.
Monarch ButterflyFest
The Monarch ButterflyFest will be held on Saturday, August 24 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at the NTPRD Buck Creek Nature Park. The ButterflyFest will feature arts and crafts, pollinator education, Recreational Tree Climbing, live entertainment featuring the Bluegrass band Sawmill Ridge, strolling entertainment, children’s story time, food trucks and more. Natural Fit Outdoor Adventures Tree Climbing will be held from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm for ages 8 and older and is sponsored by the Clark County Soil and Water District. Registration will be held on site at the ButterflyFest. Bigfoot Tracks
Bigfoot Tracks is taking place at the Kirby Preserve at Old Reid Park until August 26. Search the trails on the preserve and look for 15 hidden bigfoot tracks. Each print will have a code. After finding all the codes email / private message (nationaltrail@springfieldohio.gov) your answer. Also, share photos from your adventure (without giving away your answers). Each photo and correct code submission counts as an entry in a drawing for prizes. For more information call 328-PARK.
Summer Letterbox Adventure
Pick up a Summer Letterbox Booklet at the NTPRD Administration Building, Heritage Center or the Clark County Park District. Find clues to help find the letterboxes hidden in local parks including National Trail Parks and Recreation District, Clark County Park District, Heritage Center and the US Army Corps of Engineers at the C.J. Brown Dam & Reservoir. Return the completed booklets to NTPRD and fill out a registration form to be eligible for prizes. For more information call 328-PARK. Team CO-Ed Fall Soccer
Registration is now underway for adult Team CO-Ed Fall Soccer for ages 18 and older. This five game adult co-ed league will play on Sunday afternoons starting September 8. The registration fee is $350 per team. The registration deadline is September 8. For more information call 328-PARK.
Splash Zone
Splash Zone Waterpark is open daily through August 11 from 12:00 – 7:00 pm, weather permitting. See the complete list of activities at www.ntrd.org
Trail Walkers
Trail Walkers is a guided, self-paced walk on paved trails and promotes fitness, fellowship and fun. Trail Walkers is held on Tuesdays at 10:00 am to walk on the local multi-use trails. The walk on August 13 will take place on the Little Miami Trail and will meet at the Beatty Station Staging area. For more information call 328-7275.
Trail Hikers
Trail Hikers is organized by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Trail Hikers will be held at Rebert Pike Nature Park on the 1st, 3rd & 5th weeks of the month and at New Reid Park on the 2nd and at Old Reid Park on the 4th week. These guided, self-paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. Hiking boots are recommended. This program is free. For more information call 328-PARK.
Trail Riders
Trail Riders is a guided, self-paced biking program and rides approximately 10-15 miles and explores local bike trails while promoting fitness and fun. The next ride is Monday, August 12 at 10:00 am on the Buck Creek Trail and meeting at Old Reid Park.The group will stop for lunch on their ride and participants are responsible for the payment of their own lunch.
