Early Childhood Art Exploration
A fall session of Early Childhood Art Exploration will begin Friday, September 27 – November 15 at the Springfield Museum of Art. The class for children age 2 (with adult) will be held from 9:30 – 10:00 am and ages 3-5 (with adult) from 10:00-11:00 am. You and your child will explore art elements such as color, texture, and line through fun engaging projects and activities. Perfect for the child who loves exploration. The registration fee is $35 (age 2) and $70 (ages3-5).The registration deadline is September 25. This program is done in partnership with the Springfield Museum of Art. Simply Salsa
Simply Salsa is geared toward ages 12 & older and will be held on Monday, September 30 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Learn to make three different simple salsas with fresh ingredients. Each participant will leave with a sample of each and the recipes to make more. Children ages 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult. The registration fee is $10 and the deadline to register is September 26.
 
Clubhouse Kids

Clubhouse Kids will begin a six week session on Wednesday, October 2 from 9:30 am – 11:30 am at the Snyder Park Clubhouse. Clubhouse Kids is open to children ages 3-5 (must be toilet trained). This drop-off program is designed to get kids active and moving while learning fine motor skills, arts and crafts and more. The registration fee is $50 and the deadline to register is September 27. Dance Sampler
A Dance Sampler class, open to ages 13 & older, will begin a six week class beginning October 3 from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the NTPRD Administration Building. Each class will feature a different dance such as the Waltz, East Coast Swing, Cha-Cha, Salsa and Country Two-Step. Singles or couples are welcome. The registration fee is $35 per person. The registration deadline is September 30, 2019. For more information call 328-PARK.
Chalkfest
Chalkfest will be held Saturday, October 5 from 11:30 am – 4:00 pm at the National Road Commons Park. Spend the afternoon listening to live music by the American Landscape and watching professional and amateur chalk artist chalk the streets in downtown Springfield. Attendees will also enjoy offerings from local organizations, food trucks and kids activities. Have the chance to create a chalk art masterpiece of your own. Chalkfest is done in partnership with Project Jericho. For more information call 328-PARK.
Play Pals
Play Pals will be held on Thursday, October 10 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Play Pals is open to children ages 2-4 along with an adult and offers parents and caregivers the opportunity to participate with their little ones in fun activities. Play, sing and listen to stories along with activity stations, arts and crafts and new experiences. The registration fee is $5. For more information call 328-PARK (7275).
Yoga 4 Kids
Yoga 4 Kids is open to youth ages 6-12. A 6-week class begins Thursday, October 10 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Your child will gain flexibility, muscle, strength and balance while learning yoga poses. The class will focus on the mind-body connection to help build positive self-esteem and give participants an outlet for stress and anxiety. The registration fee is $40 and the deadline to register is October 4. For more information call 328-PARK.
Lego Stem Club
A Lego Stem Club will be held on Friday, October 11 from 4:00 – 5:30 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building for youth in grades 6-8. Use Lego bricks and other materials to solve real world problems. This Stem based club will let students explore creative solutions by building and testing their ideas. All materials and a small snack will be provided. The registration fee is $10 and the deadline to register is October 7.
Fall Fancy
The Fall Fancy will be held on Saturday, October 19 from 7:00 pm – 10:30 pm at the Snyder Park Gardens & Arboretum. Party the night away at the Snyder Park Gardens & Arboretum during this fun Halloween event. Elegant, spooky, silly, your call- dress in a costume and have a ball. Fall Fancy supports the National Trail Parks and Recreation District parks and programming. The tickets are $40 and include heavy hors d’oeuvres, music, a free drink and more. Tickets purchased by September 30 will receive an additional free drink. The event is organized and operated by the Partners for the Parks. Tickets are available for purchase online by going to www.ntprd.org or in person at the NTPRD Administration Building.

Trail Walkers
Trail Walkers is a guided, self-paced walk on paved trails and promotes fitness, fellowship and fun. Trail Walkers is held on Tuesdays at 10:00 am to walk on the local multi-use trails. The walk on October 1 will be held on the Simon Kenton Trail and meeting at Eagle City Soccer Complex.  For more information call 328-7275.
 
Trail Hikers
Trail Hikers is organized by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Trail Hikers will be held at Rebert Pike Nature Park on the 1st, 3rd & 5th weeks of the month and at New Reid Park on the 2nd and at Old Reid Park on the 4th week. These guided, self-paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. Hiking boots are recommended. This program is free. For more information call 328-PARK.
