Martha Washington – Indispensable Women for the Indispensable Man

The historical program Martha Washington is open to ages 12 & older and will be held on Tuesday, April 11 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at the Davidson Interpretive Center. Martha Washington was an unsung heroine who was more crucial in the nation’s founding than you would ever think. George Washington is widely regarded as the “indispensable man” to the success of the American Revolution. Martha was essential to him in many ways. Hear Lady Washington tell the fascinating story of her life in 19th Century Virginia. The registration fee is $10 and the deadline to register is April 4. Spring Break Splash

Spring Break Splash is for all ages and will be held on Friday, April 7 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Wittenberg University Natatorium. Spring break is a great time to enjoy swimming. Children ages seven and under must be accompanied by an adult in the water. The registration fee is $2 if pre-registered or $4 at the door. Book Folding

A Book Folding class for ages 18 & older will be held on Saturday, April 15 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Book folding is the process of folding pages to create a design in a book. This class will teach you how to follow a pattern, mark pages and fold pages to create a design. All supplies are included. The registration fee is $5 and the deadline to register is April 10. 

Yoga Flow

Yoga Flow is for ages 18 & Older is scheduled for Tuesday, April 18 – May 23  from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. This Vinyasa class begins with mindful breathing and warm-ups before moving through seated, standing, and balancing poses. Vinyasa is a movement-based form of yoga, which focuses on flowing with the breath while reducing stress and increasing flexibility. Most postures can be modified for those with physical limitations. Participants will need to bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and any props if you have them. The registration fee is $50 and the deadline to register is April 14. Basic Bike Clinic

A Basic Bike Clinic for ages 18 & older will take place on Thursday, April 20 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at Cyclotherapy. Learn basic bike maintenance during this clinic. Receive instruction to increase your bike maintenance awareness and skills. This clinic is held in partnership between National Trail Parks and Recreation District and Cyclotherapy. Trail Tots

Trail Tots is for children ages 3-5 along with a caregiver and will be held on Thursday, April 20 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Children will learn about nature during this outdoor program while having fun and meeting new friends. Activities include outdoor exploration and play, gardening, music and games. The registration fee is $8 and the deadline to register is April 17. For more information call 937-328-7275. 

Geology of the Mad River Gorge

A Geology program for ages 16 & older will be held on Saturday, April 22 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Mad River Gorge. Learn the geology and geomorphology of the Mad River during this Earth Day hike led by Dr. John Ritter. Have the opportunity to stay after the hike to participate in a litter clean up organized by Keep Clark County Beautiful. This program is free and registration is required by April 19. An Evening With The Roosevelts

An Evening With the Roosevelts is for youth ages 8-12 and will be held on Thursday, April 27 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm at the Davidson Interpretive Center. Larry and Julia Marple, as Theodore and Edith Roosevelt, will share stories from their lives before, during and after the Presidency during this educational program. The registration fee is $10 and the deadline to register is April 20. Trail Hikers

Trail Hikers is held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. These guided, self-paced hikes allow you to explore our local natural environment.  These trails are all natural so be sure to wear your hiking boots. Hikers must complete a yearly registration form before their first hike. Go to ntprd.org to check out the Trail Hikers schedule. Trail Walkers

Trail Walkers is scheduled for Tuesday, April 11 from 10:00 – 11:00 am to walk on the Simon Kenton Trail and will meet at the Eagle City Soccer Complex. Trail Walkers is a guided walking program which highlights the multi-purpose trail system while promoting fitness, fellowship and fun. These guided walks will get you moving outdoors while you learn more about the local trails. Before the first walk participants must complete a yearly registration form. Start Smart Baseball

Start Smart Baseball is for children ages 3-5 ( as of May 1) and will be held on Wednesdays, May 24-June 28 from 5:30 – 6:15 pm or 6:30 – 7:15 pm at the Snyder Park Ball Field. Start Smart Baseball is a developmentally age appropriate introductory program. This six week program prepares children and their parents for organized baseball and softball without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Age appropriate equipment is used in teaching throwing, catching, batting, running, and agility. A parent or guardian’s participation is required.
