BIGFOOT Tracker

BigFoot Tracker is for all ages and will be held through July 28 at George Rogers Clark Park. Search for Bigfoot who has been spotted at George Rogers Clark Park. Tracks on the trails might lead you to him. When you find Bigfoot, send in the colors of the tracks that led you to him and send to nationaltrail@springfieldohio.gov. Each correct answer will be entered into a drawing for a prize. For more information call 937-328-7275. 

Read With the Trees

Read with the Trees is for youth ages 4-7 along with a caregiver on Thursday, July 27 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at George Rogers Clark Park. Experience nature along with the benefits of reading and literature during this outdoor story time. Listen to a story brought to you by the Clark County Public Library. Participate in a nature themed activity and make a craft. This program is in collaboration with the Clark County Public Library. This program is free and the deadline to register is July 21. Crow Series / Pollinator Power

The Crow Series is for youth ages 5-12 along with a caregiver and will be held on Wednesday, August 2 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at Smith Park in New Carlisle. Celebrate pollinators and learn how important they are. Participants will listen to a book, make a craft and participate in the monarch trail. This program is held in partnership with the New Carlisle Public Library. Registration is free, but required. For more information call 937-328-7275. 

Big Backyard Game Night

The Big Backyard Game Night is for all ages and will be held on Friday, August 4 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at George Rogers Clark Park. Participate in group games like giant checkers, lawn Jenga, pioneer games and more. Dinner will be provided. An adult must accompany all children ages 17 & under. The registration fee is $3 and the deadline to register is July 31. Registration is available online by going to ntprd.org or in person at the Clark County Park District or National Trail Parks and Recreation District. 

Yappy Hour

Yappy Hour is scheduled for Tuesday, August 8 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Snyder Park Clubhouse. Bring your 4-legged friend out to Snyder Park to enjoy live music and a cold beverage. No pets? That’s okay. Local vendors will be on hand with information and services. Pets must be on and remain on a leash. Yappy Hour is in partnership with the Clark County SPCA and is sponsored by Wet Your Whiskers. 

Summer Letterbox Adventure

The Summer Letterbox Adventure is for all ages and will take place through August 28. Be part of this fun and educational summer adventure and learn more about our local parks, libraries and community while searching for the hidden letterboxes. Pick up a Summer Letterbox Adventure booklet at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building or the Davidson Interpretive Center. Find clues in the booklet that will help you locate the letterboxes hidden in local destinations including the National Trail Parks and Recreation District, the Davidson Interpretive Center, Springfield Museum of Art, Clark County Public Library Southgate Branch, and the New Carlisle Public Library. Trail Walkers

Trail Walkers is scheduled for Tuesday, July 25 and will meet at Old Reid Park to walk on the Buck Creek Trail. Trail Walkers is a guided walking program which highlights the multi-purpose trail system while promoting fitness, fellowship and fun. These guided walks will get you moving outdoors while you learn more about local trails. Before the first walk participants must complete a yearly registration form. Trail Hikers

Trail Hikers is for ages 18 & older and scheduled for Wednesdays from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Old Reid Park/Kirby Preserve, New Reid Park and Rebert Pike Nature Park.  These guided, self paced hikes allow you to explore our local natural environments. Wear hiking boots, all trails are natural. Hikers must complete a yearly registration form before their first hike. For the Trail Hikers complete schedule go to ntprd.org.

Trail Riders

Trail Riders is for adults ages 18 & older and is held on Mondays from 10:00 – 11:30 am. Trail Riders is a guided cycling program that promotes health and recreation. These paced rides are an average speed of 10-12 mph and explore Clark County’s local bike trails. Helmets are required. Trail Riders will meet on July 31 to ride on the Simon Kenton Trail and will meet at the County Line Road Staging Area. Registration is required prior to the first ride. Trail Rollers

Trail Rollers is for ages 18 & older and is held on Fridays from 9:00- 10:00 am at the Eagle City Soccer Complex. This program is designed for those on wheels and their caregivers. Only non-motorized wheeled strollers are welcome to stroll along our trails. Great for parents or caregivers looking to get out of the house, get exercise and meet new people. Only pets in strollers are permitted. This program is free and registration is required. For more information call 937-328-7275.
