Bike Clinic
A Bike Clinic, open to adults ages 18 and older, will be held on Friday, May 4 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Eagle City Soccer Complex. Learn basic bike riding skills, general bike maintenance and basic repair along with a skills challenge. Participants need to bring their own bike and helmets are required. The program is free and pre-registration is required and available online by going to www.ntprd.org. For more information call 328-PARK.
Star Gaze
A Star Gaze is scheduled for Friday, May 4 from 8:30 am to 10:30 pm at Eagle City Soccer Complex. Celebrate Star Wars Day by exploring the mysteries of the night sky with a large robotic telescope. There will be viewing of deep sky objects – stars and galaxies. Pre-registration is required and available online by going to www.ntprd.org or in person at the NTPRD Administration Building. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. The Star Gaze series is done in partnership with the Clark County Park District. For more information call 328-PARK.
Wild About Nature Day
Wild About Nature Day will be held on Saturday, May 12 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Snyder Park Clubhouse. Bring the entire family out to meet a live deer and fox, make a craft, see a camping demonstration, nature education and more. This program is free and for all ages. Yappy Hour
Yappy Hour is back on Wednesday, May 16 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Snyder Park Clubhouse area and open to adults ages 21 & Older. Bring your 4-legged friend out to enjoy live music and a cold beverage. Local vendors will be on hand with different information and services. For more information call 328-PARK.
Camping Basics
Camping Basics will be held on Thursday, May 17 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Camping Basics is open to ages 12 & older. Learn what it takes to have a fun and relaxing time camping in the great outdoors. Learn the basic gear needed with hands on pointers and practice pitching a tent and more. Youth 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. This program is free. Pre-registration is required and the registration deadline is May 11. For more information call 328-7275.
Trail Walkers
Trail Walkers is held on Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on our local multi-purpose trails. Trail Walkers is a guided, self-paced walk that highlights the multi-purpose trail system while promoting fitness, fellowship and fun. The next Trail Walkers is scheduled for May 8 on the Tecumseh Trail, meeting at Smith Park in New Carlisle. The 2018 Trail Walkers program is sponsored by Richards, Raff and Dunbar Memorial Home and Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. Trail Hikers
Trail Hikers is organized by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Rebert Pike Nature Park on the 1st, 3rd & 5th weeks of the month and at New Reid Park on the 2nd & 4th week. These guided, self-paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. Hiking boots are recommended. The program is free. For more information call 328-PARK.
Trail Riders
Trail Riders will be held on May 7 on the Simon Kenton trail and meeting at Eagle City Soccer Complex. Trail Riders is a guided, self-paced biking program that explores local multi-purpose trails while promoting fitness and fun. The spring rides will be approximately 10-15 miles. Bike helmets are required. For more information call 328-PARK.
