Handmade History- Applique Quilting Class
An Applique Quilting Class will be held on Saturday, February 3 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Third in the quilt block series is a 12-inch applique block for Overall Bill. He is a nice companion with vintage Sunbonnet Sue, or used on its own. The registration fee is $25 and the deadline to register is January 26. For more information call 328-PARK.
Crafty Cards
The next Crafty Cards is Monday, February 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the NTPRD Administration Building. Crafty Cards is open to ages 16 and older and supplies and instruction are provided to make 4-5 cards. Participants work at their own pace and level. The registration fee is $12 and pre-registration is required by January 26, 2018.
Greening Your Landscape With Native Plants
Greening Your Landscape With Native Plants will be held on Saturday, February 10 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District. Learn how to green up your garden with native plants and reestablish connections with our environment at this educational program. Michele Banker, Land Resource Coordinator with the Marianist Environmental Education Center, will give instruction on how to conserve water and energy and provide habitat and green your yard. The registration fee is $5 and the deadline to register is February 7. Registration is available online by going to www.ntprd.org or in person at the NTPRD Administration Building. Setters and Slammers Youth Volleyball
Register now for Setters and Slammers Youth Volleyball. Setters Volleyball is open to youth in grades 3 & 4 and is a 6-week fun, instructional, co-ed league with modified rules to introduce players to the game of volleyball. Slammers Youth Volleyball is for youth is grades 5 & 6 and is an 8-week league designed to introduce new players to the game  and to improve skill development. Adjusted net heights and age appropriate volleyballs will be used with traditional rally scoring. Practices and games will be weeknights at area gyms starting in early March. Teams are organized by school district when possible. Uniform shirts will be provided. All players  must have kneepads. The registration fee is $35 and the registration deadline is February 2, 2018. Youth Spring Soccer
Register now for Spring Soccer for youth in grades K-8. The focus of this recreational league is fun and skill development. All divisions are co-ed and will be divided: K-1st, 2nd-3rd, 4th-5th and 6th-8th. Practices will start in late March and games in April and early May. Practices are held at local fields throughout the county. All games of the five game schedule will be held at Eagle City Soccer Complex. Uniform shirts will be provided. All players must have shin guards. The registration fee is $35 and the registration deadline is February 23. Trail Hikers
Trail Hikers is organized by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Rebert Pike Nature Park on the 1st, 3rd & 5th weeks of the month, at New Reid Park on the 2nd week, and at the Snyder Park Clubhouse on the 4th week of the month. These guided, self-paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. Hiking boots are recommended. The program is free. For more information call 328-PARK.
