Women’s Clubs Luncheon

The Springfield City Federation of Women’s Clubs will hold a luncheon meeting at the Woman’s Town Club, 805 East High Street, on Saturday, November 11th, according to President Christine Zechman.

Ethan E. Harris, a planner with the Clark County Community Development department will be the guest speaker. The Clark County Land Reutilization Corporation (CCLRC), or “Land Bank,” is a quasi-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to the reuse and revitalization of vacant, blighted and non-performing properties in Clark County and its villages, as well as New Carlisle and the City of Springfield. Mr. Harris will explain the Land Bank operations and show examples of projects already completed.

Mr. Harris is responsible for finding deteriorated houses in the county that can be torn down, or even renovated, so they can provide viable land or housing again for interested residents. In some cases, the property may become an improved green space thru his efforts and end up additional land for an adjacent homeowner. Regardless of the process needed, he takes eyesore areas and makes them into beautiful areas, improving Springfield and Clark County thru his work.

Luncheon reservations will cost $17 and should be made before November 7th, by contacting Louise Samosky at 399-9454.
