Play Pals
Play Pals is open to children ages 2-4 ( along with an adult) and will be held on Thursday, January 11 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Play Pals offers parents and caregivers the opportunity to participate with their little ones on fun activities. It is designed to build sensory awareness and motor skills while encouraging social interaction. Each program begins with learning stations along with music, movement, story time and arts and crafts. Winter Tree ID Hike
A Winter Tree ID Hike will take place on Saturday, January 13 at 11:00 am at Rebert Pike Nature Park. Learn how to identify trees by using their bark, buds and twigs. The walk will last about one hour. Pre-registration is recommended. For more information call 328-PARK.
Maple Sugaring
Maple Sugaring will be held on Saturday, January 20 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Learn how to make your own pure maple sugar during this educational program. Have the opportunity to go outdoors and learn how to identify a sugar maple tree and see other aspects of the process of making pure maple syrup.  This program is free and pre-registration is required by January 16 online by going to www.ntprd.org or in person at the NTPRD Administration Building. Tiger Cubs Club Women’s Basketball Clinic
The Tiger Cubs Club Women’s Basketball Clinic will be held on Sunday, January 7 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Wittenberg’s Pam Evans Smith Arena and is open to students in grades 3rd – 8th. Spend the afternoon with the area’s best, learning shooting, dribbling and passing in a fun, safe and exciting atmosphere. This program is in partnership between National Trail Parks and Recreation District and Wittenberg University. The registration fee is $25. For more information call 328-PARK.
Pilates Fitness Class
A Pilates Class will begin a 6-week session on Wednesday, January 10 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Pilates is stretching and strengthening. It tones muscle, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance. The registration fee is $40 and the deadline to register is January 9, 2018. Tai Chi For Health
A Tai Chi For Health class begins a 6-week session on Thursday, January 11 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Increase your strength, energy, flexibility and emotional outlook through this graceful form of exercise. The registration fee is $40 and the deadline to register is January 9, 2018. Start Smart Preschool Basketball
Register now for Start Smart Preschool Basketball for children ages 3-6 (as of Jan. 1, 2018). Start Smart Preschool Basketball is a developmentally age appropriate introductory basketball program. It prepares children and their parents for organized basketball without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Age appropriate equipment is used in teaching dribbling/ball handling, passing/catching, shooting and running/agility. Each participant will receive a mini basketball, a scrimmage vest, 4 cones and other practice materials. Parent/Guardian participation is required for this program. The registration fee is $50 and the deadline to register is January 5, 2018. Trail Hikers
Trail Hikers is organized by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Rebert Pike Nature Park on the 1st, 3rd & 5th weeks of the month, at New Reid Park on the 2nd week and at the Snyder Park Clubhouse on the 4th week of the month. These guided, self-paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. Hiking boots are recommended. The program is free. For more information call 328-PARK.
