New Officers at Purple Heart Chapter

On Thursday, March 16th, Springfield’s Chapter 620 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart held elections of new officers. This is customary each year.

The Chapter 620 meetings are held at VFW Post 8673 located at 2815 E. Leffel Ln., Springfield, Ohio 45505. The meetings begin at 3:45 p.m. and are held the third Thursday of each month.

Chapter 620 is always looking for new members. Your free lifetime membership does not require you to come to meetings, but members are always welcomed.

With your membership, you will experience camaraderie with others: those who have experienced similar events, have seen, smelled, and heard what you have.

You will have the opportunity to work with other veterans groups and community organizations. You will stay current with veterans’ views, news, and events. You will become aware of the benefits of being a Purple Heart recipient, like free license plates for life for every titled vehicle.

You will also receive a free monthly Purple Heart magazine with your life membership. The Purple Heart Organization is the only veterans’ organization whose charter is approved by Congress.

With Memorial Day approaching, please consider riding on our Purple Heart float in the Annual Memorial Day Parade. You can meet some of the other members and experience the parade from another viewpoint.
