Songs of the Night Campfire
The Songs of the Night Campfire will take place on Friday, November 3 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at George Rogers Clark Park. Have some good old-fashioned campfire fun while listening to night sounds and singing by the fire. Steve Madewell, singer and songwriter, will sing songs accompanied by the guitar. The program will be held in the Pow Wow field at George Rogers Clark Park. Please bring your own chair. Registration is required and available online by going to www.ntprd.org or in person at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building This program is done in partnership and the Clark County Park District. Miracle On Mitchell
The annual holiday shopping event, Miracle On Mitchell will be held on Sunday, November 5 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Miracle on Mitchell will feature unique gift items from local vendors. For more information call 328-7275.
Play Pals
Play Pals will be held on Thursday, November 9 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Play Pals is open to children ages 2-4 along with an adult. Play Pals offers parents and caregivers the opportunity to participate with their little ones on fun activities. Play, sing, and read stories along with activity stations and arts and crafts. The registration fee is $5 and pre-registration is required. For more information call 328-PARK.
Basket Weaving Workshop
A Basket Weaving Workshop for adults 16 and older will take place on Thursday, November 16 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm and Saturday, November 18 from 9:00am to 12:00 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Learn the art and craft of basket making during this 2-day workshop. Receive instruction and supplies to weave a Cherokee Gathering Basket. The registration fee is $35 and registration is available online by going to www.ntprd.org or in person at the NTPRD Administration Building. For more information call 328-PARK.
Bucket Busters Youth Basketball
Register now for Bucket Busters Youth Basketball. Bucket Busters is open to youth in Grades 5-7. Bucket Busters is a co-ed recreational league with an emphasis on improving skill development through practices and games. Participants of this program will meet two or three times a week starting in December with games in January. Days, times and locations are to be determined. Teams will be organized by schools if possible. The registration fee is $35 and the deadline to register is November 3, 2017. Pilates Fitness Class
A fall 6-week session of Pilates begins Wednesday, November 8 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Pilates is stretching and strengthening. This class will focus on core awareness, strength, balance and flexibility. The registration fee is $40 and the registration deadline is November 6. For more information call 328-PARK.
Talkin’ Baseball
Talkin’ Baseball will open a new season Wednesday, November 1 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation Administration Building. This monthly trivia contest will be feature a speaker, monthly trivia contest and baseball book or video exchange. This program is free and presented by the Springfield/Clark County Baseball Hall of Fame.
Trail Walkers
Trail Walkers will meet on Tuesday, October 31 at the NTPRD Administration Building located at 1301 Mitchell Blvd. Trail Walkers highlights the multi-purpose trail system while promoting fitness, fellowship and fun. These guided walks are self-paced. The 2017 Trail Walkers program is sponsored by Richards, Raff and Dunbar Memorial Home and Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. Trail Hikers
Trail Hikers is organized by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Rebert Pike Nature Park on the 1st, 3rd & 5th week of the month and at New Reid Park on the 2nd & 4th weeks of the month. These guided, self-paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. Hiking boots are recommended. The program is free. For more information call 328-PARK.
Trail Riders
Trail Riders is a biking program conducted by National Trail Parks and Recreation District. These guided, self-paced rides explore local bike trails while promoting fitness and fun. Bike helmets are required. The next  scheduled ride is Monday, November 6, meeting at the Eagle City Soccer Complex. For more information call 328-PARK.
