Greening Your Landscape With Native Plants
Greening Your Landscape With Native Plants will be held on Saturday, February 10 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District. Learn how to green up your garden with native plants and reestablish connections with our environment at this educational program. Michele Banker, Land Resource Coordinator with the Marianist Environmental Education Center, will give instruction on how to conserve water and energy and provide habitat and green your yard. The registration fee is $5 and the deadline to register is February 7. Registration is available online by going to www.ntprd.org or in person at the NTPRD Administration Building. Play Pals
Play Pals will be held this Thursday, February 8 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the NTPRD Administration Building. Play Pals is for children ages 2-4 along with an adult companion. Play Pals offers parents and caregivers the opportunity to participate with their little ones on fun activities such as learning stations, music, story time and arts and crafts. It is designed to build sensory awareness and motor skills while encouraging social interaction. The registration fee is $5 and pre-registration is required. For more information call 328-PARK.
Coyote Night Howl
A Coyote Night Howl will take place on Thursday, February 15 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at the Snyder Park Clubhouse. There will be a short presentation to learn about the misunderstood coyote. Then have the opportunity to participate in a howling survey. Pre-registration is required by February 13, 2018. Lee’s Game Night
Lee’s Game Night is back on Friday, February 23 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Enjoy a night of fun with friends and family as we celebrate the XXIII Olympic Winter Games with board games and more. Participate in challenges the last half of the evening. An adult must accompany all children. Dinner will be provided by Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken. The registration fee is $3 per person and the deadline to register is February 19, 2018. Talkin’ Baseball
Talkin’ Baseball is scheduled for Wednesday, February 7 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Talkin’ Baseball is the hot stove baseball discussion program. Participate in the monthly trivia along and snacks will be served. Attendees are encouraged to bring a baseball book or video for free exchange. This program is free of charge and presented by the Springfield / Clark County Baseball Hall of Fame.
 
Youth Spring Soccer
Register now for Spring Soccer for youth in grades K-8. The focus of this recreational league is fun and skill development. All divisions are co-ed and will be divided: K-1st, 2nd-3rd, 4th-5th and 6th-8th. Practices will start in late March and games in April and early May. Practices are held at local fields throughout the county. All games of the five game schedule will be held at Eagle City Soccer Complex. Uniform shirts will be provided. All players must have shin guards. The registration fee is $35 and the registration deadline is February 23. Trail Hikers
Trail Hikers is organized by National Trail Parks and Recreation District and held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Rebert Pike Nature Park on the 1st, 3rd & 5th weeks of the month, at New Reid Park on the 2nd week, and at the Snyder Park Clubhouse on the 4th week of the month. These guided, self-paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. Hiking boots are recommended. The program is free. For more information call 328-PARK.
