SICSA Pet Adoption Center has for the 6th year in a row received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities. Charity Navigator President and CEO, Michal Thatcher stated that “Only 6% of the charities we evaluate have received at least 6 consecutive 4 star evaluations…indicating that SICSA outperforms most other charities in America.”
With over 81% of SICSA’s expenses going toward implementation of programming and services, they are able to annually facilitate over 1600 adoptions, humane education outreach for over 8,000 people and a community spay and neuter program that helps prevent the unwanted births of up to 14,000 animals in the Miami Valley. None of which would be possible without the generous support of the community through their donations, but also by their attendance at special events like Lift Your Leg Charity Race in June, community Dine to Donates, and youth programs like the teen Paw it Forward Camp where campers can earn up to 30 hours of volunteer hours for their community service projects.
Along with this excellent Program Expense percentage, SICSA Pet Adoption Center was found to be an
extremely efficient fundraiser. Over a 3 year tracking period, on average, only 10 cents was spent to earn $1.00 which again earned SICSA another perfect score of 10 out of 10 by Charity Navigator. Nora Vondrell, President and CEO of SICSA stated that “SICSA’s Board and staff take our fiduciary responsibility very seriously as we understand that at the end of the day every penny makes a difference in the lives of the animals in our care, the families that we help to build, and the Greater Miami Valley community that we serve.”
